As disciples of Jesus we all are chosen to be Servants in Christ. When we became a disciple that's the calling for which we all answered. God is calling all of us to renew our Commitment to Serve God and his people.

1. Serve the Lord

Joshua 24:15
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."

Here we see that the majority of the Israelites were falling away from God, still Joshua had his conviction straight, that is to serve the Lord with all his heart. Today the wave of worldliness and the wisdom of the world has swept the valuable faith of many and it is easy for us to also get entangled in such deception and loose our focus from serving the Lord with all our heart.

Joshua 22:5
But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul."

Let us learn from Joshua to have our own conviction even when the majorities turn away from God. Let us renew our walk with God and let us help one another to do the same.

2. Serve His People

Matthew 20:26-28
26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave--
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

We all want to be great, don't we? We all like to be served isn't it? But here we see that Jesus is establishing a very important principle on our life that we must be a servant first. As disciples we must renew our commitment to serve the people in our ministry .So let us first inspect the different needs in our ministries and see how we can help. Its very important for us to have a concern over our fellow brothers and sisters and even to do good to the family of believers.

Galatians 6:9-10
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Colossians 3:23-24
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,
24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

So whatever we do let us give our best because even as we are serving God's people it is a service to God himself.

In Conclusion dear brothers and sisters we as God's Chosen people we must be excited to imitate our Lord Jesus Christ who took the role of a servant and has set an example for all of us to follow so let us together Renew our commitment to Serve The Lord and his People with all our Heart.
